    Hi there,
It turns out that the Complianz plugin has not been blocking cookies before consent is given. I have received threatening letters asking for money because my site is tracking without consent.
I have just tried opening the site in incognito Chrome and Facebook as well as HubSpot are loading before consent.
    Can you please help?

    Hi @cokefour,

Please be careful with e-mails threatening you to pay such a fine, as in most cases, these are not legitimate and they try to scare you into paying them.

As for the cookies prior to consent:

I’ve visited several pages on the website in question and could only find Google Analytics cookies being set prior to consent.

As you use Google Tag Manager to load Analytics on the site, you’d need to configure it to only fire Analytics when consent for the Statistics category has been obtained.

Follow these instructions to import the Complianz triggers in your GTM container. Upon doing so, you can set the Firing Trigger of your Analytics tag to “Trigger Statistics” (instead of a trigger such as All Pages), and the tag will now wait until consent for the Statistics category has been obtained.

    Hope it helps!
    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi Jarno,
I didn’t understand it completely but partly got the gist. In the end I removed the scripts from GTM and used your demo ones. I’ll write the guy back and thank him for his time. I’d already disabled the fb pixel in my FB Business dashboard so I don’t think it would have bank able to track him even with the tag on the website.
    What do you think?
    Kind regards,
    Clement

    Hi @cokefour,

I wanted to check the current behavior, but I couldn’t see the Cookie Banner appearing on the site at the moment, perhaps due to caching/an active CDN? Purging/clearing cache in those tools could help resolve this.

To answer your question: when the FB Pixel is no longer in use/disabled in your FB Dashboard I would recommend removing its’ code from your page as well.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
