Sporadic Nonsense

i am going to assume that you realize how similar it looks to https://www.chrisjdavis.org , since youre a poster there. Since I know hes using a theme that he himself did, rather than a free-for-all template, Im going to have say I dont like it, your site that is. Only because of the rather blatent similarities to his site, that cannot be attributed to simply “using the same theme”.

I am NOT saying you plagerized, stole his ideas, blah blah blah, I just dont like it.

I don’t know if the comments aboe are true, if it is the case then you’re a bad, bad boy. Still I don’t think they look the same, but there is an air of familiarity between the two.

It’s probably entirely coincidental – I often found my Manji theme ended up like a horrible nightmare version of Khaled’s site without intention so eventually I dumped Manji because I was crap and unoriginal with it.

I like the header, but the rest I don’t think has enough contrast between the bright whie and light orange. It’s lovely and clean, but I think need a touch of contrast.

Ok, so if the fonts are the same, then the theme is a rip-off!?

I did NOT accuse of him of ripping-off anything. NOR did I accuse him of anything “bad”. I read https://www.chrisjdavis.org, ho does also, he’s commented there, so I can only ASSUME that hes taken alot of inspiration from Chris’ work. In my opinion, too much. Thats ALL, nothing else, nothing more.

Looking at the two sites side by side, the similarities are quite obvious, and have nothing to do with fonts.

Well it would be odd to rip off a site and then link to them!

I just had another thought, on your sidebar, it’s a bit diffcult to distinguish when a comment ends and when you’re links begin – yes I know there is a title, but it’s very difficult to see what part you’re staring at, so perhaps that could do with more difnition.

Did you intended to create that horizontal line that goes all the way across the screen at the top of the page?

you know, whether you want to hear it or not, my remarks were constructive. And your attempts at offsetting them are sort of odd, since Ive said not once, but twice, that I was NOT (theres a third time) accusing you of theft.

I dont like your site because you werent original, plain and simple. You didnt use a theme, and you werent even original. Its a dichotomy. It has absolutely nothing to do with theft. But thats your hang up, obviously, not mine. Since you defended a position you werent even being put into by me.

I see what you are saying perfectly well. I think it is this part of your statement that brings out the defensive side of my post above:

It is ok you don’t like it. That doesn’t bother me. I liked Chris’ site functions and I wanted to use something similar on my own blog. Thank you for your input though.

I love Chris’ site, and it works, partly, for me atleast, because I know it’s his ?? and that he did the work and had the ideas, and .. and … and ..

It’s really hard sometimes, as similar as MOST of the WP Themes look, to know what is a rip off, what is maybe a subconscious thing, and what is just imitation.

Whatever you’ve done to update your site is not rip off. That is very unique. Love what you’ve done there. Simple, but not simplistic. Good job.
