Recently I turned on ‘Remove the default Emoji JS & CSS files’ in advanced tool, and I realized that my ‘Ultimate Member’ plugin’s icon became a box with ‘x’.

so i disabled ‘Remove the default Emoji JS & CSS files’ feature, but still icons are box with a X.

I did try disable hummingbird plugin, and it works shortly but a little bit later it became box with a X again.

How do I reactivate emoji feature while using hummingbird plugin?

    Any advice would be appreciate.
    Thanks.

    Hi @mixingmag

    I hope you’re well today!

The issue would be related to Asset Optimization rather than the “remove default emoji… ” option. When you disable plugin, assets on site are no longer optimized and when you enable it back (with same settings as before disabling), it takes some time to get assets re-optimized. That’s why the icon disappears after some time.

This is specific to the site and Asset Optimization may need some slight tweaking.

I just visited the page in question and I don’t see any icons missing/changed to “X” currently so I’m not sure which ones to check but in general – solution is to identify which CSS files are handling such icon and exclude such file/files from asset optimization in Asset Optimization settings in Hummingbird.

If you tell us which icons to look at exactly, we can check which CSS should you try excluding.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Thanks for your advice. as you said, the problem was asset optimization.

I add exclusion um_fonticons_ii, um_fonticons_fa and now it works.

I’m always grateful for your quick and accurate answers.

    Thanks.
