What Is The “Meta” in my sidebar

    Just did the standard install…

    I’m about to blow away that meta section in the sidebar… but first I figured I’d ask what it was.

    I know what meta data is… and saw something about certain links being posted or something based on meta data you give to your post. But why are there those hard coded links under the Meta heading? How does that Meta section benefit me? How can I use it. I was searching around the forum but didn’t find to much useful info on this.

  • If you want it, keep and if not, get rid – if you ever needed or wanted the code back it’s easily got from here or elsewhere.
    As for use – if you don’t have a need for it now, just remove or replace it.

    The last I heard is that it was there as an alternative plugin hook (most plugins hook into the footer).
