Custom page to show as a home page

  • HI,
    I am using wp 3 and thesis 1.7 theme.

    I want to show a static page as my home page in wp and I did select in the general reading section but its not working.

    I think its because of some plugin. I am not new to wp and have been using it since 6 months so I am kind of confused as to what is going wrong.

    Please advice what I should do ?
