Themes Not Installing

  • I have a fresh install of WordPress.

    I am trying to install a theme and it is not working.

    When I try to upload a .zip file containing a theme, I get the following error:
    Unable to create directory /home/comps2/domains/comps2.linuxdev.websolvers.net/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2010/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    I’ve set all of my folders to:
    Octal: 775

    So, everything is writable by the server, executable and readable by world.

    Also, I’ve manually uploaded the theme to the themes folder, and it’s not seeing it or allowing me to activate it.

    If that’s the case, shouldn’t it work? Can’t figure out why it’s not. It’s not like i’ve done anything weird or modified anything. It’s a fresh install.

    Thoughts? Ideas or suggestions?
