After the last communication, we started publishing web stories ignoring the “Your story contains errors that can affect eligibility to appear on Google.” error.

But I can confirm that this issue has stopped web stories from going to discover. This is absolutely disappointing for the publishers who are suffering because of issues in the plugin.

Can you please confirm how to deal with this issue, rest of the checklists are met in the web stories and amp is valid but the compatibility issues has caused the drop in traffic.

Hello @david414 , thanks for posting your topic. The compatibility warning in the Web Stories checklist is actually just a false positive in the checklist window. It occurred since version 1.25.0 that was released last week, and we will be releasing a fix for it soon. This warning only displayed on the checklist and does not affect the AMP validation as verified in your valid story here.

That said, content featured on Google Discover changes regularly and many other factors can affect ranking or cause a drop in traffic, like not meeting the content policies.

If you’re not sure whether a change in traffic is caused by a change to your site, we recommend using Search Console’s various tools to confirm or reach out to the experts at Google Search community for guidance.

@david414 An updated version of the Web Stories plugin has been released which resolves the issue with the compatibility message in the checklist. Please update to version 1.25.1 and confirm on your end as well. If you continue to experience any issues feel free to reach out in a new topic and we will be glad to help. Thanks so much for your patience.
