Google XML Sitemaps plugin installation problem

    Hi,

    I tried installing the Google XML Sitemap plugin, but it stopped during the installation, saying
    Could not create directory. /public_html

    Any idea what this means, or how to deal with it?

    Check whether you have write permission on the /public html directory.

    thanks for yopur reply. Could you tell me how do I check permissions?

    Try this via ftp

    Open your site in the ftp program
    Right click on the file on your site you want to chmod
    Select properties
    Enter 777

    Let me know the things happening after you done this.

    Hi Dhinakaran,

    I installed the plugin through my FTP manager (I had previously been trying to install it directly from the WP Plugin Directory, through my dashboard), and this time it worked fine, without making any changes to the permissions.

    Plugin now installed and activated!
