    Hi,

I want to have a sign up form included in a popup. This popup can be loaded on every page of the site so that users can subscribe pretty much from anywhere on the site. However, I don’t want the content of the form itself to be loaded because it loads a lot of unnecessary files.

I inserted a sign up form built with Memberpress with a shortcode in a popup.
Everything works smoothly when clicking on subscribe links and button, except that the popup loads all files of the form all the time, like Stripe and PayPal javascript files, even if users didn’t click to open the popup.

As a consequence, I have more than 1.5Mb of files loaded on all pages and posts of the site that are not necessary since the user didn’t even click to subscribe, yet.

When the subscription popup is deactivated, all stripe.js files are gone for instance, that’s how I identified the root of the problem.

I don’t see a targeting condition that could work. Even from my menu and footer I want users the possibility to click to open a popup and subscribe. But I don’t want to load files and slow down the site and use data if visitors have not shown interest in subscribing.

Can you please help me on solving this issue, please?

    Thank you very much.
    Kind regards

    Hi @clem10nt

Thank you for getting in touch, and we’re sorry the site loads slowly when there is a popup with MemberPress shortcode.

Popups are preloaded at the footer before they are shown. Loading a lot of media or, depending on the popup’s content, it can slow down the site, as it fetches the resources.

Adding targeting rules on each popups will not help since you want that popup to load on every page of your site.

I noticed the page you sent is using Click Open. You might want to try using the Remote Content – Load From URL feature.

It can target only the content section of the page using the trigger Click Open. Basically, the MemberPress shortcode is on a page, and it will load when it triggers the popup with the remote content.

We hope that helps. Let us know how that goes, or if you have questions.

    Thanks!

    Hi @belimperial,

Yes, loading content only when needed would be great.

I created a remote content popup but it doesn’t work well. Can you please help me fixing it?
Please see a link where you can see the differences between ‘Test remote content popup’ and ‘Pop up standard’ where the form is correctly displayed:
    https://www.newsendip.com/fr/vaccin-astrazeneca-lafrique-du-sud-a-prefere-vendre-ses-doses/?LSCWP_CTRL=before_optm

You can see the payment doesn’t work (and some translations are missing). The page from where the content loads is this one: https://www.newsendip.com/fr/abonnement/abonnement-standard/

    Thank you
