Putting Download Link On User’s Profile Page

  • Hello,

    Im trying to put a PDF download link in user’s profile page.
    This link will enable them to download a PDF that is uploaded into their personal WP user detail section by me, an admin. So different user will get a different PDF using the same button on their own profile page.
    Fyi, i added a custom field in WP user details using PODS that enable me to upload PDF into their user details.

    I hope anyone can help me with this.

    Are you planning to upload a PDF file from the User’s profile or do you just want to use the link to files you have uploaded via wp-admin area?

    Can you please show a screenshot to show where exactly are you trying to add a download button on the user profile? Do you only want the profile owner to see the button or any profile visitor can see it?

    thanks for the reply!

    Im planning to use the link to files that have been uploaded via wp-admin area.
    As u can see in the screenshot below, ive added a custom field in the user details using PODS.

    And after filling in the custom field, i used shortcodes and snippets to show the details in the respective users’ profile page as shown below.

    And im trying to add the download button in the users profile page somewhere in this area:

    The download button will let only the account owner to download the PDF file that is uploaded in the field as shown below:

    Regarding your question, i want only the profile owner to see the button. And they can only see the button by logging in to their own account and accessing their profile page.

    So different user will download different file, based on what i, as an admin, upload in the custom field as shown above.
