    Hi,

The Wordfence alert emails I receive contain several blank lines between each sentence, see example below. This results in what should be a one-page email becoming two pages. Can this be fixed to eliminate the need to scroll down to read the entire message?

Hi @dave8441, thanks for getting in touch.

In short, this isn’t a formatting issue that we’re seeing reported across our wider customer base and indeed I’m not seeing this on my copies of WordPress with Wordfence installed either. I would guess that the email client you’re using is adding extra formatting, or if you’re using any plugins on your site they may be reformatting the email in some way before sending.

If you’re able to download the original/raw email with headers from your email client (similar to the “Show Original” option in Gmail) to see if there’s anything unusual coming through like extra line breaks or badly formatted HTML, we could possibly assist to point you in the right direction. This could be sent to wftest @ wordfence . com with your forum username in the subject line. Let me know if you’ve sent it here so I can take a look.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @wfpeter,

    Thanks for your reply.

I sent the email file as per above. It does contain extra line breaks in the source code.

There is an email plugin called Sendinblue that was installed to perform SMTP authentication. If you think it may be causing this, let me know and I will contact their tech support.

    Hi @dave8441,

I have seen your email and confirm the extra line spacing. I am always careful to attribute direct blame to another plugin, but it could certainly be worth asking via their support channels if this issue has been a known issue in the past or part of the configuration that could be changed. I’m not receiving emails with the same extra formatting directly from my own Wordfence installations. In all cases I’m sending using the default mailsend software for my hosting plan with no WordPress SMTP plugins.

You could certainly run a test with the SMTP plugin disabled if possible, but if it’s critical to sending emails from your site it’s worth taking the support route first.

Let me know how you get on!

    Thanks,

    Peter.
