How do I set the width of content within a group?

Repost of this. It was never answered. Someone closed the thread when that is an extremely important feature to fix.

Elements within a group, stack, or row should not fill the entire width by default. Users want to be able to divide their page up into sections with different background colors, like every single website out there that has a decent home page. But the only way to do that is with Group blocks (or the other two which are types of group blocks).
But when you set the Group block to full width (to cover the entire section’s width with a background color) all of the elements within it are now stretched to fit the entire page width. This is NOT a sane default behavior. Not a single website uses that behavior in the entire internet ecosystem. The internal elements should have their own width properties, but they do not have width properties for users to change. This is utterly ridiculous. This is why WordPress is so reviled. It is full of bullshit limitations in the editor.
Solution: I should be able to change the width properties for any element within any other element. This is how HTML works, by the way guys!! Think you would have picked up on that by now after 20 years.
