HTML in archive post list

Hi
I would like to format the content of the list of my archived posts.

Presently it ignores the HTML formatting that is in the original post. When I click on the month I get the list of the archive posts, but the original HTML formatting has been stripped. I would like to see the line breaks I put in to the original.

I have tried different archive plugins but they are only concerned with how the list of archive blogs display in the sidebar.

Any help much appreciated
