We have successfully done some refunds and it appears that when we do 100% of purchase, the refund will go through. However, When we have to do a partial refunds it doesn’t work. We use only PayPal payment option.

Normally , we should have a message in the red box saying that the refund is ok but it doesn’t displayed and there is no transaction on the Paypal account

    Hello @m2p76

thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.

What you describe is the intended behaviour; only when you do a full refund, there will be an order note added saying “Order status changed from Processing to Refunded.”
When you do a partial refund, you will see the details of the refund added in red under the items that have been refunded and you will find the transactions in your PayPal overview as well.

The situation you describe: is that something you had with older PayPal plugins? Since the details are visible on the order overview, we don’t see the value of adding this. Can you elaborate on this? Maybe we are missing something and should open a feature request for this.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi @joostvandevijver,

Thank you for your reply !

it’s ok for the refund detail but the problem is that the partial refund is not done on Paypal, we have no trace of the transaction and this is valid since we installed the new plugin…

The customer does not receive the refund…

    Kind regards,

    Mamad

    Hello @m2p76

so you see the details of the refund being added to the order overview, but the actual refund is not seen on the PayPal interface at all?
I would first test your webhooks; this can be done in the plugin settings under the tab “Webhooks Status”. Please “Resubscribe” and “Simulate” the webhooks and see what response you get.
If there is no issue seen performing these steps, then I would suggest creating a staging site and testing with sandbox accounts to see if this might be an account issue or a plugin conflict issue. Instruction for conflict testing can be found here.

If you don’t find any cause by doing these activities, please share the staging site details with us, so we can test the issue there ourselves. In this case, please open a ticket with our service desk. You can find the instruction for this here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
(please add the URL of this thread in the ticket as well)

    Kind regards,
    Joost
