    I just purchased the Pro plan and tried uploading the zip file. This resulted in a “critical error” with the site. My error email from the site specifically names Paid Member Subscriptions Pro as the plugin that caused this.

    Have you seen this before and do you know how to remedy this?

    Here are the steps that I went through: 1] installed the free version. 2] could not upgrade to Pro so I uninstalled the free version. 3] I downloaded and installed the Pro version directly from the site. I do remember my SN key not working with the free version thus the uninstall.

    Thanks for all your help!

    **UPDATE** I pulled the site into Recovery Mode which allowed me to see the following error:

    This plugin failed to load properly and is paused during recovery mode.

    An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 72 of the file /home/hillgfw2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/paid-member-subscriptions-pro/index.php. Error message: Uncaught Error: Undefined constant “PAID_MEMBER_SUBSCRIPTIONS” in /home/hillgfw2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/paid-member-subscriptions-pro/index.php:72 Stack trace: #0 /home/hillgfw2/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(307): PMS_Handle_Included_Addons->pms_main_plugin_notice() #1 /home/hillgfw2/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(331): WP_Hook->apply_filters() #2 /home/hillgfw2/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(476): WP_Hook->do_action() #3 /home/hillgfw2/public_html/wp-admin/admin-header.php(303): do_action() #4 /home/hillgfw2/public_html/wp-admin/index.php(137): require_once(‘/home/hillgfw2/…’) #5 {main} thrown`

    Is there a workaround or do I just need to deactivate, uninstall, reinstall?

    Hello @mothy5000,

    You need to install and activate the free version of the plugin and then install and activate the paid version. Both are necessary.

    The issue is going to be resolved in the next update.
