• I am an amateur and a startup, bootstrapping my way into website work.

My website offers expensive niche market instruments sold worldwide. These plug into mains voltage, which must be 120 V in North America, 220 Volts in Europe, in other countries whichever they use. The instruments are otherwise identical, except small difference in price and SKU.

When ordering on line, it would be great to have two “add to cart” or custom buttons on the page to select voltage, add a little to price for 220 Volts. Then add that SKU to cart. With plain WordPress, how do I add these buttons, and specify what they should do? How to start? Where to go read?

The website I need help with is: neurosciencetools.com

  • Hi @cwscouten,

I see that you are using WooCommerce plugin. To create a product with variations in terms of voltage, you can create variable products in WooCommerce. This link will help you set up the variable products for your website.

Since your query is specific to WooCommerce plugin and not WordPress Core, I suggest that you reach out to WooCommerce Support Forum for any further questions or issues.

    Good luck!

A simple yet effective button selection for your e-commerce site can generate revenues. This is why it is important to choose buttons that will attract visitors to your website. In the end, anyone with an online business would want customers to click that buy button.
However, to make that happen is not an easy task. Customers would want an easy and simple user interface so that they feel easy to operate. Try to bring in standout features to your e-commerce website so that you are different from your competitors.

Call to action means encouraging a user/visitor to purchase an item or a product. This can only be done if you stick to using meaningful and attractive words on your buttons. Try using words other than ‘Submit’, ‘Buy Now’, and other such types of words. The aim should be to compel visitors to take action.

Words should be such that will drive the visitors to click on that checkout button. You have to come out with such types of words so that more and more visitors get inclined towards your call to action button.
