• Awesome update. Thank you for adding a formatting option for the date and time in the admin panel as well as a WhatsApp number.

Regarding Whatsapp, can you please consider adding an additional field where you can enter the text/number that should be displayed in the contact card? It now shows the number exactly as entered, but that has a different format as the other phone numbers. See an example on the linked page.

I’d like to display a short text like
    “Send a Whatsapp message”
    “Contact us with Whatsapp”
Or a phone number in the same format as the other numbers

    Thanks you!
    JP

    Hi JP,

That makes sense. We’ll see if we can add that in the next update where we work on features.

    Thank you Jay!

Hi, in this reply about development version of 2.2.4. you said:

In this version, we’ve also updated the Whatsapp field so that the number used to send the message has all non-numerical characters stripped from it. This way you can enter the number how you would like it formatted in the contact card, and it will stay correctly (un)formatted for the message send.

That is greatly appreciated, it works for the example with the full international number notation, but it won’t work for local businesses that want to have their phone number in local (non-international) notation. Phone numbers are written in a different way for different purposes. For example:

    06 – 1234 5678 (normal notation).
    +31612345678 (click-to-call international notation)
    31612345678 (click-to-app Whatsapp notation)

I’d appreciate it if you would consider an extra field to display the WhatsApp number (or any text), similar to the other phone number fields where you have a phone number field and a click-to-call field. So for WhatsApp that would be the WhatsApp number and a click-to-app number.

    Thank you!

The stable version of 2.2.4, which we just pushed, adds an extra field to set a display number for Whatsapp in the contact card.

Awesome, thank you, that’s much appreciated!

Did you change anything after the official release? Wordfence finds a few difference between my installed version and the one in the repository in
    – class-custom-post-types.php
    – class-settings.php
    – template-functions.php

Yes, definitely. We changed the Whatsapp field from stripping non-numerical characters to having a separate field for the display number. The changes in all of those files are related to that.

    Thanks.

I did a new WordFence scan and now all is ok.

    Thank you!

    JP
