• I am contemplating buying either a netbook or an iPad to work on my blogs with. Any issues from a WordPress perspective?

  • If it has a browser, and supports javascript and flash, it seems like it should work ok. With netbooks you might find your viewing resolution constrained to an size of 1024 x 600, or somewhere around there on average. There are some that support higher resolutions, so that might be something to look for when testing them out. I understand there might be some difficulties with applications that use flash if you have an iPad, but I can’t confirm that first hand.

Unfortunately, the iPad lacks Flash support thanks to stubbornness on both Adobe and Apple’s part (Adobe refuses to lower the CPU load of Flash Mobile, therefore Apple refuses to provide it as an option to their users). However, you’d be surprised as to how many sites don’t need Flash these days. Many sites, including Youtub, now offer alternative non-Flash versions.

As for WordPress, if you had an iPad you could the use the awesome official iPad/iPhone app:

I use both PC and Mac (and iPad and iPhone and Andriod) to manage my WordPress blogs. No issues ?? Except for Flash. But … Yeah. Not a big deal.

The iPhone app is not working on MultiSite blogs right now, but for the iPad, you hardly need it!

I’ve been using WordPress on a Mac for over six years and on an iPhone for over two years, so I’m willing to say that there are no problems.
