• Hello,

I need to fix a website which has been hacked.
The first thing I did was to change FTP details as well as Administrator password. I managed to upload wordfence vía FTP but feel cannot go further as cannot update wordpress or any plugin. Could you please guide me with next steps. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I was so stressed with the situation that I missed out replacing the wp-admin and wp-includes. Will try that. Thanks!

Well, I did replace wp-admin and wp-includes according to the version but no changes.

I still cannot add or update any plugin. Does not allow me to update wordpress either.

The hosting provider suggested me to use ImunifyAV extension and I deleted the two files according to the scan results. I installed wordfence via FTP and scanned the web and also deleted another file.

Still no changes. I am stuck. Not sure wether to import a backup I did when the site was hacked with all-in-one-migration. I did replace the wp-admin and wp-includes in local and it seems to be clean as I can update the plugins and wordpress. Only a link found by wordfence and not sure which file do I have to edit to remove the link.

    Thanks.
