Have you tried in any other browsers?

I just tried in Safari and it didn’t work there either.

I am using Firefox on a Mac.

Aargh – computer stuff just never works for me! ??

Oh and I should add I am a first time WordPress user.
I have only just installed it today.

I can make posts, edit them etc… can post an image from teh web via url. But cannot post an image from my computer!

Try decativating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

No active plugins to deactivate ??

Should I uninstall WordPress and try again maybe? Is it likely to be an issue with the software or something that re-installing could help?

Or is it more likely a computer thing that a reinstall won’t help?

It’s possible, but let’s try something less drastic first.

Download WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of the /wp-admin/ and /wp-includes/ directories with fresh copies from the download.

Or is it more likely a computer thing that a reinstall won’t help?

If we get to the point of needing to do a reinstall, and that doesn’t fix it, then we’ll know that it’s a computer thing.

    aaarghhh ??

I ended up removing the whole thing because I stuffed up.

So started again, with a new download, new installation, and same thing. Pop up box for uploading image files from computer is blank!!!

Any more ideas? This is so frustrating.

Well, that means that it’s either a server problem or a computer problem. Try uploading the image file from a different computer. If that works, then we know that it’s a problem with your computer. If that doesn’t work, then we know that it’s a problem with your server’s configuration (you’ll have to contact your hosting provider if this is the case).

Ok I’ve checked from another computer and same thing.\

So I guess it’s a server thing…. which probably means I did something wrong when installing it or something maybe?

Thanks so much for your help. And suggestions on how I should explain the problem when I contact my hosting provider?

Just describe the problem in detail, mention that you’ve gone as far as to completely reinstall WP and you’ve also checked in other browsers and computers, which basically leaves the server as the only thing left.

Feel free to link to this topic too.

Its good to know I’m not the only one with this problem. I’m expecting my host to come back with standard response….not our problem, check the forums.

If you do resolve this PLEASE let me know. I have clients waiting to see images on the website.
