Hi, we have a WordPress MU installation and I’m trying to experiment with this plugin, mainly for using caching with memcached and minify capabilities ??

After uncompressing the plugin in the wp-content/plugins, giving the right permissions (I even tried wp-content recursively), the plugin does not activate, giving the “fatal error” message. Sadly, there are no errors in both PHP and Apache error logs.

Our MU is working in a “mixed” domain/sub-dir mode. The actual WordPress configuration is per-subdir, and the blogs are always on /blogs/<blogname> in different domains depending on the HTTP Host Request.

I also noted that after the fatal error, a file is created in wp-content, named w3-total-cache-config-blogs.example.com.php. Since I read that each blog will have a separate config file, I think this name is a lot ‘generic’ and I wonder if it will work in our installation.

    Thanks in advance ??

The fastest way for me to help you is for you to contact me through my web site so I can debug on your server.

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately our network isn’t available for anyone outside here. We were using WP-Super Cache and now we migrated to batcache + memcache. We got very interested in your plugin, and if you want the same information to reproduce the error on a test installation, I would be very glad to provide. If you have a spare time and want to test it, it would be nice, but if no, we’re going to stick with our current plugin until we get some time to debug the code ??

Thanks and congratulations on your work.

If you can provide steps to duplicate it would be appreciated.

Ok Frederick, I’ll do a fresh installation with all the instructions on our customizations (it’s not so much) this weekend. Will update this ticket monday. Thanks a lot for your attention ??

I didn’t have time to check this again, as object-cache.php was giving me some really slowdown problems on administration. So I’m not using object-cache anymore and instead I’m using wp-varnish.

Perhaps in the future I’ll come back to this great plugin for its ‘minify’ habilities ?? Thanks.

I would be interested to see which plugin you run doesn’t like object caching. You can of course just use database caching only intead.
