HTML message type produces blank posts

After we upgraded to wordpress 3.0 from 2.9 we can no longer post via email HTML messages that are from Outlook (we forward emails from our work outlook to gmail and wordpress pulls the message from gmail) – either the post is blank or the post intermingles HTML code with text. Prior to the upgrade it worked fine? We have tried using the wordpress post via email function and postie – neither work. I have setup a clean instance of wordpress 3.0 on the same server using the same database but with no plugins installed and get the same result. It appears that the code outlook puts in a message when it is in HTML format is the problem (all that formatting junk). if you compose the message in rich text or plain text it is better but the handeling of images is not as good. Has anyone had a similar problem and found a fix? We are using wordpress 3.0 on windows 2003 IIS 6.0, php 5.3.2, mysql 5.0.27 – I would be resigned to the fact that wordpress 3.0 does not handle html outlook messages but I have another server running wordpress 3.0 on windows 2008, php 5.3.2, mysql 5.1.46, apache 2.2 and that server works fine? Any advice is greatly appreciated
