    Hello dear WooCommerce-Team and users,

all of this only applies to manual orders, which are created on site for customers who order by telephone, e-mail or similar:

    • The shipping must be entered manually and is not drawn from the shipping types entered.
    • A manual order must first be taught that VAT can be deposited
    • you select the 19%, but then you still have to enter them manually for each product
    • The products are always entered including VAT in WooCommerce, why excluding VAT for manual orders?

I just made a video to show how illogical the whole thing is https://youtu.be/JBm4RLN2oGE

Do you have a solution or an idea?

    Many greetings,

  • Hey @nico87

I understand when placing an order that your manual orders are excluding taxes.

This would be the expected behavior of WooCommerce if you have not enabled automated taxes: WooCommerce->settings->Taxes-> *Automated Taxes. You’ll need to hit the “Recalculate” button to calculate and add the VAT.

    Hope this helps!

    Hey @nico87,

Do you have any explanation or solution for shipping on manual orders?

Excellent question. Currently, I’m not aware of any plugins that will pull shipping rates for manual orders as they do via the cart. The only workaround I’m aware of for this is to use the Switch to User plugin and create the order for the customer that way instead of inside the WooCommerce admin. I know some merchants that take lots of orders via the phone set them up this way.

You can also suggest support for shipping on manual orders to be added by suggesting a feature. This doc can show you how to do that:

    https://woocommerce.com/document/feature-request-portal/

The developers look at these when deciding what features to build out.

    Cheers

    Hey @3sonsdevelopment,

that with user switching is a good idea, but somehow still incomprehensible why WooCommerce does not do this automatically for manual orders.
The fact that the VAT must first be added to manual orders is somehow illogical. Precisely because all prices include VAT and anyway only VAT prices apply to all customers in the front end.

Maybe it would be good in future updates to automatically deduct the shipping costs for manual orders.

    Greetings

    Hey @nico87

I think the logic behind this is that in instances where you need to calculate taxes depending on the customers’ shipping addresses. The possibility that you would enter different shipping addresses, makes it hard for this part to be automated.

    Hope this helps!
