I am trying to work out WHY WooCommerce does not have Product COST price in their import utility for PRODUCTS. Any ideas on HOW to do this?

    Hi there!

    Thanks for contacting us!

    Could you clarify “Cost Price”?

If you are looking to import regular price or sale price, you can use the column headers Regular price and Sale price in the CSV.

More information about WooCommerce’s built-in Import/Export tool can be found here: https://woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/

Let us know if you have any questions! ??

Cost is what I pay for an item. Regular is what i sell it for. Sale price is what we sell it for on Sale

    Hi @tophatcc

    Thanks for clarifying.

Your online store is meant for customers, and ideally they should have nothing to do with the cost price i.e., how much you paid for a product. In other words, to reveal your profit margin is not intended, and that is why WooCommerce does not have Product COST price in its import utility.

You can, however, implement it programmatically, for which you may consult with the WooCommerce Customizations Partners. https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

Kindly be informed that support for custom coding is beyond the scope of support we are able to provide in this forum. This particular forum is for questions that are related to the WooCommerce core features.

For help with custom code we recommend the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal.

You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

Nevertheless, I’m going to leave this thread open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out here.

Seems we’ve not had additional inputs on this thread. Thus, we encourage you to make use of the above resources.

I’ll go ahead and mark the thread as resolved but please feel free to create a new thread if you have further questions.
