I’m currently testing WPS Hide login on my website, and the login is correctly showing the login using the slug I’ve used. However, I noticed some strange behavior.
I’m using Elementor Pro for page development and I have created a 404 template to be used when this is called.

When trying to go to my website folder /wp-admin/, the plugin correctly shows the 404 page I created with Elementor. Also the URL in the client is changed into /404/.

When trying to go to my website /wp-login.php, a 404 page is displayed that is not the 404 page I created. The website only shows the website logo and name (in the header and footer) and a default text. When renaming the standard 404.php page of the theme (Hello) both the header and footer are still displayed, but the text is gone. I’m using a child theme that does not has a 404 page in the theme folder.
Even when all other plugins (not WPS and Elementor) are disabled, this behavior occurs.
I also notices, that on this page the URL is not changed to 404, the page called page remains unchanged (/wp-login.php)

How can I configure the WPS plugin that when calling /wp-login.php, the correct 404 page is displayed?

    Ard.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

Thanks for using WPS Hide Login.

Did you enter the right 404 slug into 404 field under WPS Hide Login field in settings ?

Yes, I double checked. Even when the slug is changed into something like blabla (does not exist), the created 404 page is displayed (because the page blabla does not exist). In this case the url is also changed into https://mysite/blabla/. If the page wp-login.php is called, a non existing page is shown and the url remains https://mysite/wp-login.php.
The non existing error page only shows the site logo and site title, a messed up verdio of the menu (because the css is not applied) and “all rights reserved”. I have no idea where this comes from.

    Ah ok.

You have a custom 404 page ? In this case, its slug and the slug entered in WPS Hide Login settings must be the same. WPS Hide Login replaces 404 slug only when the default one is served by index.php.

Well, I give up. I have a 404 template page in Elementor with the slug “page-not-found-404” and I also made a custom page with slug “404-2”. Both don’t work when inserted in the WPS Hide Login settings and calling wp-login.php. The default theme 404 error page is shown instead. In all other instances the error page is displayed correctly, but this particular page fails constantly. Apparently this plugin is not compatible with either the theme (Hello Elementor) or Elementor Pro.

    Hello,

A lot of websites use Hello Elementor and Elementor Pro with WPS Hide Login. Did you try to deactivate every plugins except WPS Hide Login and Elementor Pro ?

Have you got any security plugin renaming/redirecting 404 slug ?
