    After 2 last updates of this plugin, it is not possible to paste a copy of Emoji icons in H1 + Metadescription in AioSeo page settings (General).

    Before these 2 updates everything was ok with this filter:
    add_filter( ‘aioseo_classic_editor_disable_emoji_script’, ‘__return_true’ );

    Iam using last version of WP + Classic Editor and a few plugins.

    Could you please help me, what to do? Thank you very much.

  • I have the same problem. After the update to version 4.2.2 the copying of icons & unicodes in the meta description is no longer possible.

    Using the example of an article, it is no longer possible to copy icons in the meta description under AIOSEO Settings. For example, you can no longer copy this check icon into the field ??

    I imagine a lot of people use this feature to spruce up their metas.

    Hey @cecke123, @milanecek

    Thank you for reporting this.

    We didn’t change anything on our end, at least nothing that I can think of right now, but I’ll look into this straight away. I’ll keep you updated.

    Hey @cecke123, @milanecek

    It looks like this broke due to a change in WP 6.0. I’ve developed a fix for it that will be included in our next release, 4.2.3, which will be released somewhere next month.

    Hi @cecke123 and @milanecek,

    I wanted to let you know that we released All in One SEO version 4.2.3.1 today which fixes the issue you reported with Emojis.

    If you’re still seeing an issue after updating to the latest version then please let us know.

    @arnaudbroes and @wpsmort

    Thanks for the information. I applied the latest update to two projects today and cleared the cache.

    Unfortunately the problem persists, additionally in the current Edge you now see a broken image icon in front of each icon.

    Copying emoticons to the title or meta does not work yet unfortunately.

    Hi @cecke123, can you please provide a URL where this is happening along with screenshots showing what you’ve set in the AIOSEO Settings for the page or post?

    @wpsmort and @arnaudbroes

    If you have a test installation with the latest update (Updated from 4.2.2 to version 4.2.3.1), it is very easy to reproduce.

    When navigating to a post and trying to edit it, emoticons and icons can no longer be inserted under AIOSEO Settings. Examples: ? ? ??

    Icons can no longer be inserted in the Title and Meta Descriptions fields. This was different before the last updates, so you could enhance your meta description with icons, for example.

    Unfortunately the problem persists, additionally in the current Edge you now see a broken image icon in front of each icon. In the screen shot you can now see the output after an update. Emoji Icons – Not possible to copy in AioSeo page settings

    Hi @cecke123,

    I tested this on a new site with the default WordPress theme and the latest version of All in One SEO and it worked fine for me as seen here – https://a.supportally.com/nTG7xP

    I’ve tested with Chrome, Safari and FF. I’m on a Mac so I don’t have Edge.

    Thank you very much Steve M, now everything works well.

    @wpsmort and @arnaudbroes

    If you deactivate the “Classic Editor” plugin, the icons and characters can be inserted again. As you can see in the screenshot.

    The original thread was based on an activated “Classic Editor” plugin. Is there maybe a possibility for this combination. The “Classic Editor” plugin is very common, it would be nice to find a fix or workaround for the Classic Editor here as well?

    I hope you guys can get further with the information. Very good support, thanks for that.

    Hi @cecke123, are you using the Classic Editor or the Block Editor?

    Hi @wpsmort,

    I use the Classic Editor, so the error can also be reproduced well. As soon as the plugin “Classic Editor” is active, there is the problem described above.

    I tested this on a new site with the default WordPress theme and the latest version of All in One SEO and it worked fine for me as seen here – https://a.supportally.com/nTG7xP

    – Activate the Classic Editor once here, then the error occurs.

    Hi @cecke123,

    I’ve been able to reproduce this now, thanks! I’ve opened an issue for this to be fixed.

    Can you confirm everything works fine with the Block Editor?

    Hi @wpsmort,

    I find your response and work great, thank you for that!

    Can you confirm everything works fine with the Block Editor?

    I work almost exclusively with the ClassicEditor, so I can’t say that much about the BlockEditor. As soon as I notice bugs, I will report them here. I would be happy if the fix for the ClassicEditor appears in an update.

    Thanks for the support and have a nice weekend.

    Best regards
