    Hi,
We are working on a listing business directory website, on which businesses have their page and display info and stuff. We are trying to enable them connect and display their Instagram feed. I have some questions:
    1. Do they need to connect on our Instagram API, and allow us to access their photos and feed? If yes, can we use your plugin with our API, so it doesnt say allow access to Smash Ballon, but our Site?
    2. Can we display automatically with shortcode like [instagramfeed=user-token] or whatever the API gets, so the Instagram Feed is displayed directly to their page without our manual intervention?
    3. I assume this whole thing would be speed costly, with many added DOM elements. We have some trouble with LCP and google pagespeed and we cannot sacrifice speed for an unoptimized instagram feed, so we are looking for the best option. I haven’t checked many options of your plugin, but is there a way to lazy load the images and most improtantly the whole HTML elements generated by the shortcode of your plugin?

  • Plugin Support Smash Balloon Louis

    Hi @chrismask,

Thank you for reaching out to us for assistance. To answer your questions:

    1. The businesses would need to retrieve their account IDs and access tokens with our tool here, provide those to you, and then you can create the connections like this. This would be connecting with our Smash Balloon app, as we are unable to support connections going through custom apps.

    2. The shortcodes do not support adding an access token. You would need to create a feed for each business by going to WordPress Dashboard > Instagram Feed > All Feeds > Add New.

    3. The plugin does not have built-in lazy-loading of images, but you could implement this with a third-party plugin and then go to WordPress Dashboard > Instagram Feed > Settings > Advanced and disable JavaScript Image Loading for compatibility. To lazy-load or delay the loading of the entire feed, this would also have to be implemented with a third-party plugin as the plugin does not have this functionality. When doing this, you would need to activate Instagram Feed > Settings > Advanced > AJAX theme loading fix.

If I can help with any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Louis
