Hi, I’ve published all the pages to my website, made it public. All pages from the home page to the contact us page is visible except for the page ‘portfolio’ isn’t visible when I click on it. It just says nothing found. I checked on my dashboard and it shows that it’s published. Check the order of each page ,on the menus tab, permalinks etc all seems to be ok except for this one page (see above link).

The response I got ( quoted below) left me confused as I still don’t know how to reslove as all other pages are fine. Kindly please help: (

“We are unable to help because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Instead, your site is hosted with a different provider on a separate host, and we’re not able to access the backend of your site to take a closer look.

The good news is that because your host uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com), help is available at the community forums here”

  • You’re using the “Portfolios” feature of the JetPack plugin.

The URL /portfolio/ is actually the special archive or “listing” page of JetPack plugin’s portfolios… just as a “Blog” page would list all blog posts.

And the page says “Nothing Found”, because, it seems, you’ve not published a JetPack PORTFOLIO yet. Just publish a JetPack Portfolio project, and it should appear here.

If you’ve published a standard WordPress PAGE called “Portfolio” with the same permalink /portfolio/, then JetPack’s Portfolio archive/listing page is overriding that PAGE, so that PAGE isn’t getting displayed at all.

Yes I published a standard page called portfolio which displays my images as a photographer but my question is how do I than resolve the issue. This page is the same as my home page the only difference is that it has more pictures of all the work I do. Hence I’m surprised what’s happening. I used a gallery widget on both my home page and this page that’s my “portfolio” work.

Do I install this plugin Jackpack or something else. Please explain to me step by step as I’m a beginner and still learning how to navigate the site

    @gappiah kindly please reply

One other thing I noticed is that when I click on the page one it shows Home>projects instead of Home>portfolio

Sorry for the late response. Life got in the way.

One other thing I noticed is that when I click on the page one it shows Home>projects instead of Home>portfolio

That’s from JetPack: they call the individual portfolio items “Projects”. (See screenshot below)

This page is the same as my home page the only difference is that it has more pictures of all the work I do. Hence I’m surprised what’s happening. I used a gallery widget on both my home page and this page that’s my “portfolio” work.

The content on the page is totally irrelevant here. The ONLY thing that matters is the slug or permalink (or address) /portfolio/, which seems to be colliding with JetPack’s own.

Here are a couple of things to try:

    1) Kindly go to your PLUGINS page and be 101% sure you don’t have the JetPack plugin installed (if you don’t need it). If you indeed don’t have JetPack installed, go to SETTINGS => PERMALINK and SAVE your permalinks. You don’t have to change anything… simply scroll down and hit SAVE CHANGES.

    Then test your page.

    2) If the above doesn’t resolve your issue, temporarily install the JetPack plugin. Then go to JetPack > Settings > Writing and under “Custom content types”, toggle the PORTFOLIO button ON and OFF.

Then de-activate JetPack, re-save your PERMALINKS again, and test the URL again.

    3) If this also doesn’t fix the problem, let’s test the PAGE itself to be sure it’s fine. To do this, you’ll need to (temporarily) change the slug/permalink of the PAGE to something else other than portfolio (eg portfolio-2), update the page, and try to open the page (using the NEW slug).

    Standing by for feedback!
