I am developing a site for our nonprofit (currently at https://staging.npsnj.org). When we get a new member, we want them to be able to pay their membership fee via credit card, enter in their name, mailing address, email, and so on.
We have around a dozen chapters and each has a mailing list in our CC account. Users choose a chapter based on what is closest to them (this can’t be calculated, and some may choose more than one).

If we use the dedicated CC plugin, all that is fine, but we can’t integrate credit card information since obviously it isn’t built to handle it. If we use Fluent Forms, they can pay by credit card and while FF has CC integration, that integration insists that we choose a list in advance. It seems to me that every form builder has that limitation.

So I’m at an impasse and wondering what to do. Having two pages of forms and having to type in names and addresses twice is guaranteed to dishearten users. I have a help request in to FF as well.

    Hi as well here,

As you’ve noted already, definitely a bit of an impasse here as our plugin is definitely not set up with making any sort of electronic transactions capabilities. The plugin is meant most for getting the new signups into the lists in question.

With Fluent Forms, is it a case of the payment is posted first, and then the user would be able to choose the list(s)? As opposed to having the lists created and selected as part of the form submission that handles everything? I’m not personally familiar with their plugin, so I’m definitely not sure about all its capabilities.

I gave up on Fluent Forms and moved to WPForms. It’s a bit of a bear (sorry about the pun!), but it can be done there.

    See https://wpforms.com/how-to-add-a-constant-contact-checkbox-to-your-contact-form/

Info here under conditional logic. I needed to create a separate conditional logic item for each list, but it worked.
