I have been embedding the webstory in the post and now they are showing up extra-large so a view can’t see the story. How do I fix this?

  • @onehotoven Hello and thank you for your topic. Does your theme have the option to use the Web Stories block?

You can insert the Web Stories block on your post and choose the Selected Stories option. Then, you can choose the visual layout you’d like to use, click the Select Stories button to see a full list of all your Web Stories, and select which one you want to display. This will display differently than the embedded single story.

Thanks for replying to my question. I did the selected stories option as opposed to the single story option but that brought up different results.

The box carousel – did not change the size of the story

The grid carousel – brought up just a gray box, that was the appropriate size, but the story does not show, just the gray box.

The list has an empty space for the web story, and to the right side the meta description is shown.

    I didn’t try the circle.

So none of these options are working.

This link is showing the list version so you can see what it looks like.

It is interesting at one time the stories were showing up correctly but after an update, this has happened. I have always used the single-story option.

Any other ideas of what I need to do?

@onehotoven Thanks for the update. It seems like one of your other plugins or theme might be conflicting with Web Stories.

Could you try the following test? Use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin and enable its troubleshooting mode. This mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely because it only affects the experience of the logged-in user.

    – Please enable the Web Stories plugin and try to embed your story with the Web Stories block once more.
    – Enabling plugins and your theme one by one in this mode may help pinpoint if something else is involved.
    – Note you can disable troubleshooting mode from the plugins page.

Also, could you provide your Site Health information so I can check for any obvious plugin/theme conflicts? You can share privately if you prefer.

I figured this problem out. I did not have the webstory centered, once I did that the story shows up properly.

@onehotoven Thanks for letting us know and glad to hear that you’ve resolved the problem. I will mark this topic as resolved but please do get back in touch in future should you have any issues or questions and we will be happy to help.
