Print-O-Matic – Using Target Attributes to Define What Prints

    I am trying to create a printable version of posts. Currently, the title is not being grabbed, only content. I have tried using target attributes, but it doesn’t seem that anything I enter into the target attributes is making a difference to what is showing up on the printed page. Is there a way I can call the title so it shows up on the printed version? Related, I would like to eliminate videos and images from the printed version if possible.

  • In my case, after updating, the “Default Target Attribute” setting disappears, and even if I set it again, only Content is printed. How can this be normal?

    @clhock the target being used on the link provided is the default ‘article’ and the H1 title element does not exist within.

    under the print-o-matic options page, there should be a field entitled:
    Default Target Attribute
    change this from:
    article
    to:
    .dishes_page_title, article
    and let us know how that works out fore you.

    @shinchaya please start your own thread. Be very detailed, especially the part:

    after updating, the “Default Target Attribute” setting disappears

    updating the plugin? or saving the settings?
    the setting disappears… the field is no longer available? the value is blank? what is bing used as a value?

    Thank you. This solved the title issue. Is there also a way to exclude videos from the printed version?

    Yes, if all videos are wrapped in an element with the class ofytp-cued-thumbnail-overlay, then add .ytp-cued-thumbnail-overlay to the Do Not Print Elements section of the plugin options page.

    I tried this but was not successful. Video image is still displaying on the print version.

    then try using iframe as the do_not_print element.
