Where do i increase number of login attempts for admins? I’m testing a plugin where I have to try to register and see that it was blocked.

I was blocked from my own site after one test.

    Hi @alwayspaws

The brute force login attack protection rules are located in the Brute Force Protection section on the All Options page.

    Our recommended settings are:

    Hi @wfphil

I followed most of the settings. I don’t understand this one:

Delay IP and Country blocking until after WordPress and plugins have loaded (only process firewall rules early)

Do I enable it or leave it disabled?

Also, can I block entire countries domains? Will that stop hackers from some foreign countries (outside the USA) from getting into my site?

    Thank you!

    Hi @alwayspaws

    Thank you for the update.

For that option, the help badge takes you here:

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/options/#delay-blocking

When the Wordfence firewall is optimized, the firewall loads before the WordPress environment loads. This is desired behavior, as it increases security and gives the firewall a performance boost. But if your server has a conflict with blocking by IP address, country, or other advanced blocking settings before WordPress has loaded, you can turn on this option to allow WordPress to load first. We do not recommend enabling this option except for testing purposes.

Country blocking is a premium feature and we aren’t allowed to discuss premium features here so you can send your question to presales [at] wordfence [dot] com.

    Hi @wfphil,

Thank you for clearing that up. About premium features I’ll contact the above reference when I’m up to that point. Right now I’m still in the design stages.

    Enjoy your day!
