• I already reported this before, 2 months ago. You replied there that you are working to fix this with the personal account and that I should use the business account. I replied again that I already use a business account but I heard nothing back from you.

    I do a monthly check to see if the Instagram Feed still works.
    – The feed was scheduled to auto renew on 1 may.
    – Today is 2 june.
    – The feed on the front end says
    Error validating access token: Session has expired on Wednesday, 01-Jun-22
    – The account in the backend says: expires 2022-07-02 (Autorenew).

    How can it be that the backed thinks the feed is working with an auto renew on 2 june while it’s already expired on the backend?

    I use your plugin on 3 sites and this issue occurs on each site. I believe there is something wrong with your autorenewal system.

    we are aware of the renewal issues
    we haven’t had enough time to focus on this due to the constant API requirements from Facebook
    we will focus on this on the next weeks

    Thanks, I hope you can get it fixed soon because it’s very annoying to find the feed isn’t working. It would already help a little if the plugin could send an admin email when the token is expired.

    So I reported this on 2 June. After reconnecting, it gave me an autorenew of 31/8.

    Today, 1/8 I checked again and found that the session expired on 1/8 even though but auto renew was still 31/8.

    Why is your plugin so unreliable in keeping it’s connection with Facebook?

    You keep on saying that you are working on a fix, but after more then a year the problem still exists: it keeps loosing the connection.

    If only you could send an e-mail to the WP Admin when there is a connection issue.

    We haven’t been able to reproduce this issue on our end
    Do you have an expired token available?

    No I reconnected already.

    It looks like it always happens 1 month before the token is set to expire.

    How you can’t reproduce? You said before you were aware of renewal issues.

    Could this be cause because I use the plugin on 3 different websites (test+demo+real) all connected to the same Facebook account? When it disconnects, all 3 of theme are disconnected and I reconnect at the same time. I also have another social feed plugin on my test website and that one is never disconnected when yours is.

    We don’t know what could cause this issue, as we haven’t been able to reproduce
    Currently, there are no other users reporting this
    It is a PERSONAL or BUSINESS token?

    Its a business insta account and I have tried business and personal tokens. Same issue occurs.

    Is there some logging we can look at?

    The auto renew is set at 2023-01-01 and the token usually expired one month before, so I expect it to expire at 1 or 2 December.

    We’ve implemented the fix for the auto-renewal of personal tokens
    It’s not possible to auto-renew business tokens, so we’ve created an email alert 10 days after expiration date

    When will that version be released?

    For business tokens, is ’10 days after expiration date’ a typo? Should that not be 1 day or the day of expiration?
