    One thing to note is that the API does not always provide the List price of an item in the returned value (for various reasons). In those cases, the plugin needs to use some price, so it takes the lowest new price and uses that.

    This is not the most ideal situation, but if you look at it from a customer perspective – if you were to go buy something and amazon shows there are new items from other sellers at a lower price, you would always pick the lowest price (unless of course it was coming from, say California and you live in NY and you need is ASAP).

    This has always been the way the plugin has functioned or it would not be able to return a price in those instances (which are quite often in some categories).
