I could not import products to exactly child category

I understand that a new parent category named “HOLIDAY” and a new child category named “Fathers Day” got created, and the existing categories with the same name were not used during the import.

There could be a number of reasons, for example, a slight difference in the spelling in your CSV and the site?

Please double check to make sure you are using the correct format for the CSV. You can download a sample CSV file here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/tree/master/sample-data

I’m assuming you are using the built-in product CSV Importer Exporter. Here’s its documentation that you may refer to: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/

Should you need us to take a closer look, please share the following:
1. your CSV file (you can use Google Drive/Drobox or any online file-sharing service, and share the link here)
2. your site’s System Status – You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

I tested again and i see that the problem happend with only that Category (parent).
It works normally for all other categories.

Thank you for sharing your system status and CSV file. What software did you use to edit your CSV file? When you save CSV, can you please make sure your csv file is in UTF-8 format?

I used Ms Excel to save csv file.
My problem has been resolved by typing categories name manually (not copy-paste from any where).
I don’t know what the problem is.
P/S:
– When problem happening, Woocommerce doesn’t show categories Sample when importing csv file.
– When problem resolved, the categories sample was shown when importing csv file (as the image below)

I used Ms Excel to save csv file.

If possible, please avoid Microsoft Excel due to formatting and character encoding issues.

We recommend using:

• Free Calc app in LibreOffice
• Free spreadsheet app in OpenOffice
• Online spreadsheet editor Google Drive / Docs
