I don’t get spam emails sent to my contact page email address, but I’m getting a lot from the contact page when they fill out the contact form. Spammers know that I can’t block anything coming directly from wordpress@ because then I would never be able to receive anything important from WordPress.

Is there a simple little blocking mechanism that WordPress offers? I haven’t found one, so is there a recommended plugin? The most popular ones only block comments, not emails.

    Thanks.

When stuff comes to you from YOUR site, it’s [email protected], not from “@www.remarpro.com”. But if you have a contact page, be sure to install an anti-spam plugin to help weed out the spam before it becomes an email.

Thanks, it looks like a lot of these are for blocking comments. Can you suggest two or three that will either block emails or before they become emails?

It depends on the form plug-in. Which are you using?

No plugin, the comment form is included with the SiteOrigin theme called Corp.

In that case, it’s best to ask the support for that theme which anti-spam plugin they recommend.

Yeah, that was the first place I asked and they didn’t have a solution for it. They didn’t know of any plugin that would do it either. But they suggested switching my contact forwarding address from my default home email to a Gmail address. I’ve read about it now and it looks like it should work by using advanced filters. Thanks.
