When I use pages with Flex Posts, the title of the page is duplicated in the excerpt and I see no obvious way of removing it. For example:
    Title: Page title
Excerpt: Page title This is the body of the page.
There’s no span class around “Page title” in the excerpt that I can set to display: none.
When I use posts, it looks like this:
    Title: Post title
Excerpt: This is the body of the post.
While I’m not a programmer, I’d be able to modify the PHP code if I knew where to look for this difference in behaviour.
    Thanks, Steve

Looks like I confused this with another site where I had Hide Title = yes. (I’m relatively new to WordPress and have enough knowledge to be dangerous.) The behaviour is the same regardless of whether it’s pages or posts. I had hidden the page title in the post detail because I wanted it boxed rather than fluid and replaced it with a custom h1, which is where the duplicated content was coming from. Now my issue – irrelevant for this forum – is how to produce a boxed page title while still allowing for a fluid section for bands and images.

Sorry, not sure what do you mean with boxed page. If it’s related to styling, then it will need custom css code.

Hi Tajam, I just meant that editing with Elementor seems to use the full, fluid width of the screen for its header > h1.entry-title, which is why I had suppressed it and added my own h1 to pages, not realizing the implications of doing so: duplicate content in the excerpt. I wanted the page titles to be in line with the body column, so I went back to the default header and added custom CSS. So my original post is irrelevant and I’m marking it as closed.
