    I have two attributes.
    Primary color and secondary color.
    Variations:
    1. Primary: Black; Secondary: White
    2. Primary: Black; Secondary: Green
    3. Primary: Brown; Secondary: White

If you select option 2. Primary: Black; Secondary: Green, then Brown as a Primary color is no longer available. I understand that it does not work because the brown colour does not have the secondary colour of black. Here, you must click back to Secondary White to see the Primary Brown color. How can I make it so that the primary brown is still selectable, even if 2. Primary: Black; Secondary: Green is selected, like it would switch to a secondary color that it has?

  • Hi @daynese1

Thanks for providing the details but it would have been easier to understand the problem and the goal if the product link would be available for us to check.

As a first step we recommend that please double check if the attributes and variations are all set correctly. Here’s the documentation that you may find useful: https://woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/

If you would like us to take a further look then kindly share the product URL.

In addition, please also share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Hoping for a quick resolution.

    Thanks

Under this page if you select SZíN: RóZSAARANY SZáMLAP SZíNE: BARNA, as long as it is selected, you cannot select SZíN: EZüST. This is because the COLOUR: EZüST is not accompanied by a COLOUR: BARNA variation. I understand why it happens, but it’s a problem, because that way when people select COLOR: RóZSAARANY SZáMLAP SZíNE: BARNA, and then they click on COLOR selector they don’t see the SZíN: EZüST. It’s a huge UX and product stock problem, because in many cases the selection process gets stuck, there’s drop-offs, people write where they can’t find the silver colour and for that reason they don’t buy it.

    Hello,

When variations are selected, a button to clear the selection shows up by default. When it’s clicked, users can start over the selection process.

However, your product page doesn’t have that clear button, and therefore users can’t re-select EZüST when BARNA is selected. This is likely due to the fact that another plugin is overring the default behavior. You can deactivate plugins one by one to find out which plugin is causing the issue.

If you still can’t identify the plugin, I’d recommend running a full conflict test. Here’s how to do a conflict test:?https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/:

That’s understandable, but I think we can agree that an “x” or delete button when browsing a product, especially when selecting a variation when users spend seconds at most trying to understand things, is not useful from a UX perspective. As a user you understand that you have to click on the drop down menu to see the variations, but why would you click on the cancel, or delete, or x, or whatever you want to call that button.

It doesn’t work. So here should be a solution so that the primary attribute is still visible, if you select it then the secondary selector will only list the ones that are paired with it and should be selected in the first default.
Or the secodary attribute should be crossed out or obscured.

This clear button is a very negative profit solution.

Perhaps you could tell me how you would look for such a solution, I’m sure there is one already, but I can’t put the issue together it’s so complex.

    Hi @daynese1

    Thanks for the update.

an “x” or delete button when browsing a product, especially when selecting a variation when users spend seconds at most trying to understand things, is not useful from a UX perspective.

why would you click on the cancel, or delete, or x

We can understand your belief that the clear button may discourage the user.

If you’d like to propose this change to be made in the core WooCommerce plugin, you can share the thought on our idea board here: https://ideas.woocommerce.com/ . The more popular an idea becomes, the more of a priority it is for our developers to review it.

As for the problem at hand, please let us know the outcome of the conflict test suggested by MayKato.

    * If you’d prefer not to make any changes on your current site then you can create a duplicate/staging site for testing purpose. Many hosting providers offer site staging facilities, but if you don’t have such a feature, you can create one with the WP Staging plugin.

    Thanks

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread closed – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
