Hello after a recent update, the Legend Superpowers are not working like they used to. It seems to load the page with every new category, where it is supposed to just dim the other categories (not load each time)

    Thank you for your support!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

There wasn’t anything that changed in the Legend Superpowers.

It seems that it’s dimming everything on your site. I wonder if you have some sort of conflict. Can you do some troubleshooting by reverting to a default theme and disabling all other plugins? If it works. Re-enable your theme and then groups of plugins until it stops working again.

Let me know what you find.

Hello, thank you for your response.

Well what is strange, is i restored my site from previous back up, and the Superpowers worked fine.

Then today, it is graying everything out again, no changes.

Could this still be a plugin issue. or might there be something else?

    Thank you

I don’t know. I suspect there there some sort of JavaScript issue.

Please refer to above steps for determining if there’s a conflict.

Hello, ok, i deactivated all my plugins and the issue still persists.

    What shall we try next?

    Thank you

When I try to view your site, superpowers are turn off.

Can you also try a default theme?

Once a page is loaded, the first 10 seconds acts like Superpowers are off. Then after about 10 sec, it switches to the Superpowers in on. But all grayed out on each click.

Could this weird delay with the superpowers turning on be causing this issue?

    – No, i have not switched the theme because i am using buddyboss social platform and am nervous to change that one since it is linked to everything. Though i have been using this theme from the beginning and the superpowers worked before (it even worked yesterday with no change to my site).

There is no reason I can think of that would result in a delay like you describe.

It you have a local development environment I would encourage you to bring the site locally to test. Also I would encourage you to create a new site locally and test with a default theme and only the main Events Calendar plugin and the Category Colors plugin.

    Hello Andy,

Well I still havent quite figured out why the Superpowers are fully grayed out yet.So at the moment I have them turned off until I try some other things you suggest.

That being said, I am having another issue.

When clicking the ‘Month Next’ button, then ALL the categories show from BOTH languages. This issue is happening on both languages.

That is definitely not supposed to happen. Can you please look at that?

    Thank you!

    (@upwardspirals)

I see that for some reason when i push the Next Month button, instead of it CATEGORY (in English) like below

    https://regenerativedirectory.com/staging/events/category/health-wellness/2022-06/

Instead it is using the link CATEGORA (making categories in BOTH languages appear)

    https://regenerativedirectory.com/staging/events/categora/health-wellness/2022-06/

    Where would this get changed?

    Plugin Author Andy Fragen

    (@afragen)

I see what you are seeing but I have no explanations. Those links are generated by The Events Calendar plugin. I must have something to do with the templates used to only show each specific language.

Multiple languages, colorizing, and displaying a single language at a time is difficult. I’m sorry but I don’t have the bandwidth to dig into this issue. If this is all related to the Legend Superpowers I suggest you disable that feature.

    Hello Andy,

Ok, I troubleshooted some more factors for these issues, this is what i found

    Legend Superpowers:
I made a new staging site and turned off the theme and all the plugins except The Event Calendar, Event Calendar Pro and Category Colors. And unfortunately the Superpowers still not work. Thoughts now?

    Disabling Superpowers:
When I click on the calendar pagination, it shows ALL categories (Tho only English is in color). But once i refresh the page, then it shows the correct categories in that language. This happens in Both English and Second language (showing all categories). Sometimes the category colors dont show at all, until it is refreshed a bunch of times.

I also tested this on the default theme, with all plugins deactivated but those 3 plugins. And because WPML was not on, all categories were showing (tho this time they all had color). Once i added ONLY ‘WPML Multilingual CMS’, then pushed pagination, (I refreshed, it showed just the correct language, until pagination) then all categories showing issue happened. So it has something to do with Category Colors and WPML Multilingual CMS.

    What do you suggest?

Thank you for helping me solve this problem.

I think what we’ve discovered is that Legend Superpowers and WPML have some serious issues coexisting.

    Thread Starter upwardspirals

    (@upwardspirals)

Yes it sure seems that way.

Then what else can we try to make the Superpowers work? Since as I mentioned it was not a plugin conflict issue, since i deactivated plugins and changed the theme.

You mentioned “I suspect there there some sort of JavaScript issue.”

Given the troubleshooting details that the issue doesnt seem to be theme or other plugin related, what else can we try? Having the Superpowers would make a big difference since disabling is acting very buggy with WPML.

    Thank you so much

My test site is running the current versions of The Events Calendar, Events Calendar PRO, and The Events Calendar Category Colors. It is setup to use Legend Superpowers.

It uses a default theme. As you can see everything works.

It looks like something has changed how Legend Superpowers is functioning. I’ll have to fix it. I see it on my test site.
