Custom_Image_Header – Can you modify for multiple Images?

  • I see that WordPress 3.0 has included a new API for a custom image background in addition to the Header API.

    In the past I tried to modify a theme to include multiple custom image APIs for a specific theme I was trying to create.

    My question is could this API be modified in WordPress 3.0 so a user of a theme can upload and crop images for multiple areas in addition to the background and header?

    Eg. Could you just assign custom_image_sidebar, custom_image_leftside, custom_image_whatever?

    But I just dont understand why the WordPress community is so much worse. When I used Joomla I NEVER had a question unanswered, but I fell like I never get even a “yes” or “no” from the WordPress community….
