Does something like this exist online. I am not a web developer nor do I have an understanding of script. I’m a simple guy who wants to start a blog, but not at *.blogspot.com, etc. I want my own blog with my own hosting.

I am stuck on the installation part…looks like on step #4 with uploading the config file. My hositng company would not answer any questions about me confirming if the config.php file was in ascii:

“Thank you for contacting customer support. Although we do support the use of HTML, Java, CGI, PHP and/or ASP within our hosting accounts, we are unable to assist our customers with scripting issues or assist with third party coding/scripting.”

Sooo, since I like the features of wordpress (from what I have gathered online), do not want to use the free blog formats, and am stubborn as hell (read: now its simply a mission learn in order to get up and running).

I know absolutely nothing except I get a lot of errors when I click install. Is there a source to understand what I’m supposed to be doing a little better. It seems to me that in reading many of the topics, some answers are there but I don’t know what they mean ??

    Thanks,
    AB

Well, what kind of errors are you getting? Are you having trouble editing config.php?
