Adding author specific page template

  • The theme I would be using for the site relating to this question:

    For this project, I would want to create a page template that acts as a website unto itself for the author. Possibly there’s a use of the multi-site feature here. What I want to do is allow the Realtor to use the original theme to submit their properties for use on the aggregate site, and then ALSO pull their individual listings into a separate page template or even blog so that they can end up with website that is wholly theirs featuring the same active listings in the same way they are displayed on the main theme’s post page.

    Essentially, this would make a feature of this project that contributing Realtors could use this site as their own website if they wanted to, without the links to their competitors that are present on the main theme.

    Does that make sense to anyone? I haven’t purchased the theme yet, so I can’t post this in their support forums, or I would. I’m sure it can be done, I just haven’t figured out how yet and would like a good lead on how.

  • You could customize the Author Template to include listings by that author, as well as other information.

    You’re right, huh. The theme already has a use of the author template… but I think this other use I’m looking for is just ANOTHER use of it, kind of a stripped down version of the author template they’re already using.

    Sigh. Guess I just need another pair of eyes sometimes when I’ve got my fingers in too many things to think straight! Thanks.
