• In the WP Shopping cart I’ve edited the thumnail size to increase its height and width in the dashboard but it seems to result in a “pixilated” low resolution image, almost like it enlarged a small bitmap to a larger one. Must I create a thumbnail image of the size I need? Where would I link it to the thumbnail selector in the shopping cart product setup?

  • Your thumbnails should be the same size you have set, or larger. If you have a smaller image, it will be stretched to fit the minimum dimensions you entered.

Right Spencer but the product images I upload a fairly large (600x600px). Does WP create a permanent small thumbnail image for display or does it dynamically reduce the size of the uploaded image to fit the specificed thumbnail size? When I increase the thumbnail display size in admin it looses resolution so I’m wondering why this happens.

Yes. You need to regenerate your thumbnails. Try this plugin.
