This morning we’ve experienced, with two users and in at least two different browsers being used by the same user, the following error when attempting to edit an existing BULB lesson page, OR start a new BULB lesson page. We’re getting the “The editor has encountered an unexpected error” message and when we copy the error text we get this:

TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'labels')

Browsers where users hit this error (same user)

Chrome Version 100.0.4896.127 (Official Build) (x86_64) on a Mac
    Firefox Version 99.0.1

Workaround: browsing in incognito window works? But clearing cache in the browser didn’t work, so we’re stumped.

Thanks for the report, I think I’ve been able to replicate this issue and have opened an issue in the Github repo for the plugin here:

    https://github.com/bu-ist/bu-learning-blocks/issues/126

I believe this has to do with a change in the Gutenberg editor; we will try to patch this or come up with a workaround.

That’s really good to hear; we’ll be curious to hear how things go, because if they go well we’d love to use BULB for some student projects in Fall 2022. Best of luck investigating!

I’ve just published a new version (1.1.4) that patches this problem with the block editor. Please update to the this version and let me know if the patch works for you.

I just installed it and tested it a bit and it’s working, no problems with the block editor and I could just now create a new lesson page, edit it, and post it without trouble. We’ll poke at it a little more to make sure, but yeah, so far it’s a success! Thank you very much for the patch.
