• I am brand new to WordPress and blogging. When I try to upload a theme, I get the below error message:

“An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”

I’ve read some of the previous posts around server issues, but it’s way over my head. Could someone please give me some pointers?

    Thanks!

  • I have had this issue in the past and it was simply an internet connectivity issue. I mean not an internet issue from my ISP’s side but at the host’s side. I would be able to play YouTube just fine but won’t be able to upload a theme. I contacted the host for a FTP account and uploaded it just fine. Try the FTP way if you cannot upload via Dashboard. or the host must be able to upload it for you.

Alternatively, you could also check the error log of your hosting to see what is stored there about the problem. The error message displayed there should provide information about the cause.

However, a question: does this happen with every theme or only with a specific one? Otherwise, can you install themes via the theme search? Can you also upload normal files in the media library?
