• Hello!
Today I wrote a new post and uploaded 6 images in it.

Unfortunately, these images had the same names as some previously uploaded images – this is because they are from my phone, which always calls pictures Img0001.jpg, Img0002.jpg etc.

Previously this has never been a problem for me – although I’ve often uploaded picture from my phone, wordpress seems to “know” the difference between the files, and allow me to use any of them from the “browse images” file.

But this time its caused a problem: Any picture which were in previous posts from a long time ago where the picture had that same name: img0001.jpg are now displaying the images from today.

This problem has started to happen more and more often. Including when I upload photos with the name “cats”.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @aivanov12 ,
Thank you for your words ??

Unfortunately, Enable Media Replace still doesn’t have the option of disable its capability for certain users.

If we will add the feature, we will publish it on the release notes.

I’m sorry. I don’t think he understood me correctly. What I wanted to say is that when I upload a photo with a name that I previously uploaded, the photo itself is overwritten. For example, if I previously uploaded a photo with the name “cats” and then uploaded a photo with the same name again, the second photo gets the name “cats-1”, but in fact the second photo is identical to the first. Instead of showing the actual second photo I uploaded, the first one I uploaded earlier is displayed. I use translation, I’m sorry for my bad English.
