Is “post-thumbnails” theme support global?

Hi

If I add theme support for post thumbnails form a plugin, I add the support for all post_types that wp is current using?

add_theme_support(‘post-thumbnails’)

Am I doing this wrong or is it impossible so use post-thumbnail is one specific post_type?
