Hopefully someone can help. I’ve been trying to get customer support for the last 7 days, but I hardly ever hear back from them. The launch date of my webpage is now delayed because of this.

I purchased the Pro version so my Ad Manager can use this plug-in. I am also using “Members” by MemberPress. However, my user who is my ad manager cannot even see this plugin.

Under WP > Users, I have the Advanced Ads User Role set to “Ad Manager”. Further down below under “User Roles”, I also have it set to “Ad Manager”.

In the Members plugin, under “Ads”, that box is checked. Under “Custom”, all Advanced Ads boxes are checked. Note – I also tried disabling the entire Members plugin, but that didn’t work.

When my user logs on, he cannot see the Advanced Ads plugin anywhere on the dashboard. I briefly got it to show… I changed all the user role settings to “deny”, and then changed it back to “allow”, and Advanced Ads began showing for the user. But then it stopped again.

However… When the plugin did briefly show for my Ad Manager, he still could not get into it. It kept redirecting him to the “My Account” page within my webpage. When I changed him to Admin (for testing purposes), he got into Advanced Ads with no problems.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix Advanced Ads so my user can access it??? Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

This plug-in should not be this difficult to use!!

    Hi newburghnews,

Sorry that you did not receive any response from our support team. We received your last email on 21st March and replied the same day. Can you please check the spam folder of your email account?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,

My first email wasn’t until 26th March. Someone from support wrote back a couple of times. I’ve been emailing once a day, but it takes several days to hear anything back… and no progress has been made.

Per the request of support on Tuesday, I sent him an invite as an admin so he can take a look. I invited him twice. Nothing has been done since.

So despite paying for a plugin that doesn’t work, I’m now on a forum looking for the public’s help to fix it because I only get 1 or 2 emails from customer service per week.

    Hi John,

    I can understand your frustration.

The problem you report is related to a function part of Advanced Ads Pro, not of Advanced Ads. The forums here on www.remarpro.com are only for the plugins hosted here. So I want kindly ask you to contact us with your issues via email because moderators will close this thread sooner or later.

Just one note: I was worried that there might be a conflict between Advanced Ads and the Members plugin, so I tested it myself, and I can say that is not the case.

My test case is a user with a Subscriber WP role and an Ad Manager Advanced Ads role. In this configuration, this user can see all Advanced Ads submenus and edit ads.

Afterward, I installed Members and rebuilt the setup as described here. For the test user, all submenus stayed accessable. So something else regarding the capabilities seems to cause this problem here.

    Best regards,
    Joachim

We were, fortunately, able to resolve this case last night. I’ll summarize this again if someone comes across this thread via a search engine and has problems with wordpress.com.

The integration of Members and Advanced Ads works excellent and without any difficulties. However, the peculiarity was that the site was hosted on wordpress.com. Unfortunately, it is not possible to assign more than one user role to a user here.

Therefore, only the admin role worked. As an ad manager, one did not have access to the Advanced Ads plugin.

The solution was to develop a new user role using the Member plugin. We cloned the Subscriber role, added a few capabilities related to posts, and set the Advanced Ads specific capabilities.

Users who were now assigned this new user role had only limited access in the backend but could operate all instances of Advanced Ads as intended.

Thanks to your help, I was able to narrow it down even more. Under the Members plugin, the Ad Manager role must be allowed to “edit posts”. If this is disabled, the user cannot enter the Advanced Ads plugin.

Joachim, I would like to thank you for all of your hard work last night to get this working for me. I know you stayed up past midnight and continued emailing me until the problem was resolved. You took control of my WP dashboard and worked hard to figure out the problem. You didn’t stop until the problem was fixed. For that, I sincerely thank you for all the trouble you went through.

Now that its working and I am no longer frustrated, I’ve come to realize how much I love the Advanced Ads plugin. You can do anything with this.

Keep up the great work and thank you again. I appreciate you.
