“carousel-view.js” causing forced reflow

  • Hi.

    I’m using your plugin in a client’s website and I’m noticing it’s degrading performance significantly. “carousel-view.js”, specifically, is causing forced reflows on window resizing.

    Please use Chrome Dev Tools to record performance and try resizing the window.
    Of course there are other JQuery code that affects performance as well, but from my understanding Chrome states that the big performance hog here is “carousel-view.js”.

    Can you confirm the problem? Also, is there any solution to it?

    Thanks for reaching out about this.

    While we were not aware of any significant performance hits by the carousel scripts, we are already planning on replacing the carousel with a solution with improved page experience. That should address these performance concerns.

    I don’t have a date on when that work will be complete though. You can follow this GitHub issue for updates.
