Is it possible to create a popup whenever a user clicks on a social media link on the site that says a notice like ‘You are about to leave our site, etc. etc.’ and then it will have two buttons that say would you like to proceed? Yes( goes to social site) or No (closes window)

  • Dear @siqve006 ,

    Thanks for the question.

Yes, by all means! It is possible to have what you wished with our plugin.
Let us go step by step.

    1) The part when the popup should appear on click is achievable with the free version. We have an option to add an on click popup on any element of the website by either using the CSS code or the shortcode. You can choose which one is more suitable for your needs by checking the article below.

Open On click /On hover/On load Popup via CSS class

How to open On Load/ On Click /On Hover Popup via the Shortcodes

    2) As for the part of the popup with buttons: we have an extension called Yes/No that does exactly what you wish, however, it’s a paid one not included in the free version. If you wish, we can discuss more about it via Live Chat or email ([email protected]) since we cannot discuss anything other than the free version here.

We would appreciate if you shared your thoughts with us on the matter.

It is a social icon in the footer and when I tried to set this up with a class on click trigger it didn’t pop up before taking me to the site.

    Dear @siqve006 ,

Please, send the URL where the popup is supposed to appear.
Besides, send screenshots so we can see how everything was set up – both from the popup settings (Display Rules, Events, etc.) and from where you placed the CSS class of the popup.

On the other hand, if there is a working link on the social button, please, remove it and then use the CSS class of the popup. It is possible that the system “sees” two actions- opening a URL and opening a popup and can’t perform both simultaneously, of course.

    Dear @siqve006 ,

We noticed, that you contacted us via email as well, so we will continue our conversation over there, in order to avoid any misunderstanding.

    Thanks,
    Popup Builder Team
